The beauty of our food and wine cultural heritage contained in the menus

Entering the rooms of the Garum, Library and Museum of Cuisine was an exciting and engaging experience, a journey through the gastronomic and historical wonders that preceded us.

Observing the over 400 original menus on display, coming from the most illustrious collectors in Italy and beyond, I had the impression of immersing myself in a fascinating journey into the past through the prism of gastronomy. Every menu and every dish represented a chapter in our human history.

Historic encounters, epic feats, royal celebrations and dark periods in history materialized before my eyes within the walls of this exceptional exhibition. Moving through the various chapters of the exhibition, I felt transported back in time, experiencing each moment through the descriptions of the dishes and the fascinating historical anecdotes.

It almost feels like the menus were coming to life, transforming each meal into a sensory and historical experience. Admiring the menus linked to great works and sporting events of global resonance, I reflected on the unifying power of food and its ability to connect us with the past in a profound and meaningful way.

Through this extraordinary exhibition, I understood that gastronomy goes beyond simple nourishment, it is a vehicle of narration and memory. Each dish tells a story, each menu offers a unique opportunity to explore our past and better understand our present.
