Ultra-processed foods between childhood and adolescence

Good afternoon to you all,

in this presentation (PPT) we will address a topic of great relevance and relevance: ultra-processed foods and the risk of childhood and adolescent obesity . Dr. Alice Ippoliti , a graduate in Gastronomic Sciences, Cultures and Policies for well-being, will guide us on this journey.

Nutrition is one of the main factors that influence our health, playing a crucial role in the prevention of numerous pathologies that affect a large part of the world's population. However, it also represents a political and socio-economic issue. In low-income societies, for example, there is a greater consumption of junk food and ultra-processed foods, due to limited economic resources and poor accessibility to fresh and healthy foods.

In contrast, adherence to the Mediterranean diet, known for its health benefits, is decreasing. This diet, which promotes a healthy lifestyle, requires greater commitment and consistency, making it increasingly less followed in modern eating habits.

During the presentation we will explore these aspects in detail, analyzing data, studies and proposals to address this global challenge.
