Every summer the usual doubt, between municipal ordinances and bans introduced by beach establishment managers.
Let's try to clarify.
No law prohibits consumers from bringing home-prepared food or lunches to the beach, even if they are customers of an establishment that offers restaurant service, without prejudice to respect for other bathers and the decorum of the place.
We are referring first of all to local provisions which, for example to protect the environment, prohibit the lighting of fires and the use of barbecues on the beach.
Then common sense always applies: you must avoid very bulky fridge bags or the setting up of tables, gazebos or similar structures, the consumption of meals in the bar-restaurant and bar areas of the lido.
Without prejudice to the freedom to introduce and consume one's own food and drinks in the lido, it is also necessary to respect the provisions established by the manager for waste disposal and the safety regulations:
So, for example, some factories do not allow the use of glass bottles.
In conclusion, beyond these precautions, any prohibition signs on access to food displayed at the entrance to the beach have no effect.
