Food Consciousness

In the future, citizens will have to develop a profound "food conscience" that guides them in choosing a life option in which quality of life, environmental, social and economic sustainability are the pillars of development balanced and healthy.

It is essential to promote the formation of new consciences, understood as our ability to reflect on ourselves and attribute meaning to our actions, which draw inspiration from a solid "food culture". The latter represents a wealth of experience, knowledge and specific skills that guide coherent and high-quality life models, practices and initiatives.

Supporting the development of a food culture implies expanding the sectors of intervention and pursuing more complex and complete objectives compared to food education alone. Food culture is based on awareness of the importance of food, fueled by an understanding of issues related to nutrition, the environment, society and the economy.

We should apply the same principle to the intelligent and conscious purchase of food, attributing an ecological and social value to our choice. It is particularly important to consider that agricultural products have a significant impact on the environment, economy and society, both in terms of production and consumption.
